Most day-trippers head from Lisbon to Sintra, but across the 25 de Abril bridge the day looks different. Forty-five minutes south, the Arrábida coast has turquoise beaches, wild dolphins in the Sado estuary and the wineries of Azeitão.
A guided day trip from Lisbon handles the route and the parking — useful, since part of the Arrábida coast road is closed to cars. Mornings on the water and afternoons inland at a cellar make an easy full day out of the city.
