Sesimbra lives off the sea. Fresh seafood lines the seafront, a Moorish castle sits on the hill above the town, and the cliffs of Cabo Espichel with its hilltop sanctuary are a short drive west.

Boats leave the harbour for the beaches and sea caves of the Arrábida Natural Park, many with snorkeling stops in the clear water. It's an easy day trip from Lisbon and pairs well with the Arrábida beaches or a dolphin trip out of nearby Setúbal.
